Asia Cup 2018: I shouldn’t have taken the DRS, Regrets KL Rahul

Indian batsman KL Rahul is regrets that he missed a chance of the decision review system (DRS) in the Asia Cup match against Afghanistan which could save Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik’s wicket. Dhoni and Karthik were both leg-before and if India had DRS, then the umpires had to overturn their decisions against them. Let us know that cricket fans had targeted KL Rahul on social media over the issue.

Rahul (60), however, used the only review of India, in which was unsuccessful.

Rahul was also trolled on twitter due to the wrong DRS taken by him.

KL Rahul on Review

“Obviously, looking back at it, I felt like I shouldn’t have taken the review but at that time, in the middle, I felt like maybe I was struck outside and I wanted to take that chance,” Rahul told reporters in the post-match press conference on Tuesday. “Sometimes you can sit back here and review the review you took and say maybe you could have left it to the guys at the end but I felt like I could have been struck outside so I took that chance.

Rahul said he would be more careful in future circumstances. “We learn with it. The shot I played, the review that I took, I’ll have to go back and maybe if it happens again I’ll be in a better position to know what to do,” he said.

At one stage India were racing to the target and were 204/4 before a collapse changed the face of the match vividly. India had the target of 253 runs, but the team was all out for 252 runs and the match was tied.

Rahul said, ” We can’t take Afghanistan lightly anymore. They are a very competitive one day and T20 side. As a team, you want to be part of such matches where both team compete until the end. Nonetheless we are still happy we played a game like this”
