Harmanpreet Kaur splendid 171 runs knock seals India Women’s entry into World Cup Final after 12 years

With the help of Harmanpreeet Kaur’s super innings of 171 not out of just 115 balls; India Women beat Australia Women in Semi Finals by 6 wickets. Now they will meet hosts at the Lords.

Before this the match was reduced to 42 over’s due to rain interruption; after winnings the toss India women chose to bat first and but IND-W lost its both the openers on the score of 35 runs. Then skipper Mithali Raj steady the innings with vice captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Raj was playing calculated innings and both added 66 runs for the 3rd wicket before she was bowled by Beams playing a terrible shot. At that stage IND-W score was 101/3 in 25 overs, than Harmanpreet Kaur shifted the gears of his batting and started playing attacking cricket with Deepti Sharma playing secure innings on the other end.

Harmanpreet Kaur completed her 100 in just 90 balls in 35th over and no celebration by her just a hug to partner. The duo added 137 runs in 84 balls but Deepti Sharma fell in 39th over on the score of 25 runs. But Harmanpreet continued to attack the AUS-W bowlers and remained not out on 171 runs from just 115 balls with 7 sixes and 20 fours in her innings and IND-W ended their innings on 281/4 in 42 over’s

In response Australia Women’s had worst start as they lost their first three wickets at the score of 21 runs. Australian never looked in the game as asking rate was quite high but Villani made a valiant effort and had 105 runs partnership for 4th wicket with Perry but soon got on the ball of Gayakwad on the score of 75 runs from 58 balls. Since then Australia Women started losing wickets regularly. Blackwell made an effort till the end to chase the score but got out on 90 of 56 balls and Australia Women fell short by 36 runs.
