In couple of hours from here India Women led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur will take on New Zealand Women in the ICC Women’s World T20, 2018 opener at Providence Stadium in Guyana. Team India women will definitely want to start the tournament on the winning note.
New Zealand Women’s are No. 2 ranked team in T20s while India Women’s are at No. 5. The opener match of the tournament going to be really competitive; India Women’s need to give their more than 100% to beat the White Ferns.
For Women’s In Blue Mithali Raj will be key player as she is the most experienced in the young unit. Mithali Raj has aggregated 619 runs from 21 games and the 4th highest run scorer in the Women’s World T20s, behind England’s Charlotte Edwards (768), New Zealand Women’s Suzie Bates (720) and West Indies Stefanie Taylor (711).
The other two matches will take place on the same day are between Australia and Pakistan, Windies and Bangladesh.
23 T20I games will be played to decide the final champion of the shortest format of the game ICC World T20 2018.
The 10-teams will participate in the tournament, featuring Windies, India, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Bangladesh. The matches will be played across three venues in the Caribbean.
