India U 19 Lifted The ICC Under 19 World Cup For The Fourth Time

With the help of Manjot Kalra 101* unbeaten knock India trampled Australia by eight wickets and lifted the ICC Under-19 World Cup trophy for the fourth time at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Saturday and become the only team to lift the title for the 4th time in the history of ICC Under 19 World Cup.

2008 Virat Kohli IND SA MAL
2012 Unmukt Chand IND AUS AUS
2018 Prithvi Shaw IND AUS NZ

Chasing a modest total of 217 in the finals, India took just 38.5 overs with eight wickets in hand. The 19-year-old Kalra slammed his century off 101 balls. Kalra became second Indian after Unmukt Chand to score a hundred in the U-19 World Cup final.

The platform for the big win was laid by the bowlers first, as Australians were going well as they were 183 for 4 at one stage but the bowlers made a terrific comeback to remove the last six Australian wickets for just 33 runs, and later by opener Manjot Kalra, who struck a 101-ball century to lead India to victory. Kalra got vital partnerships going with each batsman he batted with.

Australian was short by 50-60 runs which they must have thought before choosing to bat in seaming condition and another thought must be in their mind was to test the Indian under 19 batting lineup in chasing the target by setting good score on the board. But they failed to do so and crumbled on 216 on the big stage of finals.
