INDvAUS: Wrong Team selection lead to Team India humiliating defeat at Perth

Team India embarrassing defeat in the hands of Australia at Perth in the 2nd Test Match of the 4-match series. Reason behind this embarrassing defeat is the wrong team selection.Team going with the 4 pacers was unquestionably good call on lively green pitch but team staff definitely missed the correct combination.

India team went with four pacers in the team namely Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Umesh Yadav. All of them bowled exceptionally well and took total 18 wickets in the match.

But the inclusion of Umesh Yadav in playing was not justified over the precise pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was not justified why he was not included? Why he is on an Australian tour? Just to increase the bench strength. Not playing such a quality bowler is really matter of concern, moreover when he has the batting skills to bat sensibly with the top order batsman.

Even Sunil Gavaskar was not happy with Virat Kohli’s reason given in post-match press conference that why picked Umesh Yadav over Bhuvneshwar Kumar

“When Kohli spoke about choosing Umesh Yadav over Bhuvneshwar Kumar, he gave the reason that Bhuvneshwar has not played much four-day cricket. So where is he going to play now? He has not played anywhere. Why bring him, why bring him to Australia? He [Bhuvneshwar] hasn’t played anything, now what are you going to do?” Gavaskar said to Sony Sports in the post-match show.

So far, the young bowler has picked 63 wickets in the 21 matches and scored 3 fifties with a batting average of more than 22.

Speciality Spinner was not picked:

Team India staff went completely mistaken in picking the playing XI. The went for young Hanuma Vihari over the experienced campaigner Ravindra Jadeja although Vihari played well but Jadeja could be a better option to exploit the pitch to take the wickets. And if he had played the situation could turn to India’s way. Moreover, Jadeja could strengthen up India’s batting down the order and team management think tank must be regretting the mistakes the have made.

Tail Hurting India:

Indian lower order batsman is hurting a lot which is a matter of concern. Lower order batsman not understanding the role to play down the order but they are just kept on throwing their wickets. In Perth Test the batting average of 8-11 is extremely poor which is 1.83.

India Failing While Chasing Total Overseas in Fourth Innings:
