Its 300th ODI for Yuvraj Singh; certainly he want to make this a special one

Today Yuvraj Singh will play his 300th One day International match today. Moreover this is Semi Final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and Yuvraj will defiantly want to make this match a special one and lead his to finals.

Yuvraj Singh started his ODIs career in October 2000 and played his first Test match in October 2003.Yuvi became star peroformer in couple of year and some time back he was an valuable asset to hid team. He was the vice-captain of the Indian ODI team between 2007-2008. He was the Man of the Tournament in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, and one of the top performers at the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, both of which India won. In a match against England in the 2007 World Twenty20, he prominently hit six sixes in one over bowled by Stuart Broad — a feat performed only three times previously in any form of senior cricket.In the same match, he also placed the record for the fastest fifty in Twenty20 Internationals and in all Twenty20 cricket, reaching 50 runs in 12 balls. During the 2011 World Cup, he became the first player to take a 5-wicket haul and score a 50 in the same World Cup match.

There were lots of question raised on Yuvraj Singh inclusion in the team but he proved wrong to all of them.

Yuvraj Singh seen lot of up and down in his career but never lose the hope. In 2011, Yuvraj was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his left lung known as Lung seminoma in which chances of recovery are 95%.  But Dr Nitesh Rohatgi, a senior medical oncologist at Max Hospital who accompanied Yuvraj to the US when he started his chemotherapy sessions, said, “It is a malignant tumor called extragonadal seminoma which is very rare. It is not lung cancer, nor has the tumor spread to the lungs. Yuvraj Singh underwent chemotherapy treatment in Boston and Indianapolis. In March 2012, he was discharged from the hospital after completing the third and final cycle of chemotherapy and returned to India in April.

Yuvraj singh started a Cancer foundation: YouWeCan

YouWeCan is Yuvraj Singh’s endeavour to combat cancer by spreading awareness about the disease and fighting the stigma attached to it. The national cricketer announced the launch of ‘YouWeCan’, an initiative by the Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YSF), in July 2012.

The initiative focuses on all the aspects of the disease including the advantages of early detection. YouWeCan always comes up with interesting ways to educate people on cancer by organizing sports events and fairs and not restrict to seminars and lectures. Know our story and what we dream of.

IDEA of Foundation

Yuvraj Singh came up with the idea of YouWeCan from Lance Armstrong’s ‘Livestrong Foundation’. The US cycling legend is himself a cancer survivor and had sent an inspiring message to Yuvraj Singh while he was undergoing treatment in a US hospital.

The YouWeCan initiative was planted while Yuvraj Singh was still in the hospital. He shared his experience with the virtual world as he posted pictures of his treatment and the severe physical changes he was going through, sending one clear message: FIGHT.
