Peter Handscomb hits a ton, Bowlers Demolished Pakistan on day 2

Day 2: Skipper Steve Smith 110* and Handscomb 64* started the proceedings for the day on the overnight score of 288/3. Both the players were playing watchfully but suddenly Steve Smith played rash short trying to chase a wide delivery bowled by Wahab Riaz on 130 runs in 100th over of the innings and 172 run partnership comes to an end; this could be the breakthrough Pakistan looking for.

Here comes Maddinson on the crease; but he didn’t stayed long as he was caught behind on the ball of Wahb Riaz and departs on just 1 run. Matthew Wade 7 and Mitchell Starc 10 didn’t stay on the crease for long and departed to pavilion reducing Australia to 357/7 and 10 runs joins Peter Handscomb who is batting Australians wickets were falling on regular intervals but Handscomb was fighting and playing brilliantly on the other end and completed his maiden Test ton by hitting four. Tea was called off and Pakistan had a great session 89/4 in 27 overs much better effort by Pakistan as Australia was eying for more than 500 runs but now it will be really difficult for them. After tea Handscomb 103 and Hazlewood 8 started the play but Hazzelwood was caught brilliantly by Asad Shafiq bowling mohammad Amir on 8 runs and on very next ball of next over Handscomb was bowled by Wahab Riaz on 105 runs and suddenly Australia were 380/9 with both new batsmen on the crease Nathan Lyon and Jackson Bird.

The duo added vital 49 runs partnership for the tenth wicket before Nathan Lyan got out on 29 runs by Yasir Shah and Australia were bowled out on 429 runs. In response Pakistan had worst start as they lost their first 4 wickets under 50 runs Ali 5, Azam 19, Younis Khan on duck and Skipper Misabah-ul-Haq on just 4 runs; Hazlewood put the tourists on the slipped with 2 wickets in 2 balls in his 5th over.

At the close of play, Pakistan was tumbling on at 97 for and still behind by 332 runs with Sarfraz Ahmed on 31 and Mohammad Amir not out 8. Only 24 runs were added by Pakistan from 3rd to 8th wicket, previous lowest was 25. Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood picked 3 wickets apiece and Jackson Bird picked 2 wickets
