Day1: Conditions favouring fast bowlers at Hamilton so Pakistan decided to went into the Test with 4 seamers and misplaced spinner Yasir Shah. Mohammad Rizwan was playing his debut match. New Zealand brought Mitchell Santner in place of Todd Astle, Pakistan skipper winning the toss and elected to ball first. Bowler’s spot on the captain’s decision to bowl first as Lathom was picked on duck by Mohammad Amir. Skipper Williamson was struggling and got out on the score of 13 caught behind on the ball of Sohail Khan. Amir was swinging the ball through the air and zipping off the deck, but other seamers were too unpredictable with line and length to make the most of the situation. Player took lunch 15 minutes before time Ross Tyalor 29* and Jeet Raval 35* were on the crease. Three hours later, the umpires exhausted of waiting for the rain to clear and dented the final session. Play will resume half-an-hour early on Saturday.
