Rohit Sharma’s epic 3rd ODI double ton helped India to became the first ever team to went past the 300-run mark in ODI history during the second match of the series against Sri Lanka in Mohali on Wednesday. India won the match by 141 runs.
- India is now the only team to have scored in excess of 300 ODI runs on 100 occasions. Out of their hundred 300s, India has won 78 times, lost 20 times.
- The other team next to India is Australia, who has scored 300 plus totals 96 times, winning 85 of them.
- India has posted the highest number of 300-plus totals against Sri Lanka – 21 times.

Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten at 208 runs in the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Mohali. Opening the Indian innings, Rohit took 153 balls to reach his double century and hit 13 fours and 12 sixes in the process. He is the only cricketer to have scored three double centuries in ODIs and two of them have come against the same opponent – Sri Lanka. He had scored 264 runs against Sri Lanka in Kolkata in 2014. Rohit converted his 2nd hundred very cleverly; he took just 36 balls for the 2nd one.
