Virat Kohli becomes 5th highest ODI Run-scorer for India & Overall 16th in the World

Yesterday,  Kholi made another record on his name  against South Africa in the fourth ODI, in which Kohli scored 75 runs and during his knock, he went past former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin who has 9378 runs under his belt the list of the top run scorers in ODIs.

In this process kholi becomes 5th highest run-getter in ODIs from India and Overall, he’s now the 16th highest run-getter in the format.

After the Wanderers ODI, Kohli has scored 9423 runs in just 206 ODIs at an outstanding average of 57.45. The 29-year-old also went past explosive West Indian batsman Chris Gayle who currently has 9420 runs in 275 matches.

Overall, he’s now the 16th highest run-getter in the format in a list that is led by legendary Sachin Tendulkar who scored 18426 runs from 463 ODIs. Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara [14243] is the second in the list followed by Australian Rocky Ponting [13704].

It is not the only record that Kohli has crushed in the series. During the third ODI at Cape Town,  Kohli made his 34th ODI ton, and 12th as skipper. Kholi took 206 innings for 34 ODI hundreds and just 44 innings for his 12 hundreds as a skipper.

Sourav Ganguly, in contrast, had scored 11 in 142 innings. 

283 — runs scored by Ricky Ponting in a bilateral ODI series against South Africa in South Africa (2001-02). He took seven matches. Kohli already has amassed 375 runs in this series. 

Since the 2015 World Cup, Kohli has scored 12 hundreds and 12 fifties in 47 ODI innings at average 78.08.
