The Test cricket is one of the greatest tests of batsman tolerance and his true technique. To score big individual score is the delusion of every batsman generally considered as the most prestigious form of the game and scoring good amount of runs for the team is every batsman’s dream. But some of them are unlucky to miss their double ton by just 1 run and Dean Elgar is one of them and the 10^th player in the history of Test Cricket to be dismissed on the score of 199. Here are some unlucky players who have been dismissed for a 199 mark in their careers.

10 .Dean Elgar: becomes first South African and 10^th player in the history of test cricket to get out on 199 on 29 September 2017. He was trapped in by Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and was caught on midwicket by Mominul Haque. Before this Dean Elgar build big partnerships with debutant Aiden Markram and Hashim Amla. South Africa declared their innings 496/3 for 2 and Elgar reached 199.

9. KL Rahul: He becomes the 9^th player to dismiss on unlucky 199 against England on 16 Dec 2016 on the bowling of Adil Rashid lobbed straight to point. He is still young and played just 19 matches for team India and will get more opportunities in near future to make a double ton.

8. Steven Smith: Another Australian batsman got out on 199 and that too against West Indies team at Jamaica, Kingston on 11 June 2015. The most gifted untraditional batsman of the modern era become victim of Jerome Taylor as he was adjudged LBW.

5. Steve Waugh: Australian former skipper produced these figures on 26^th march 1999 against West Indies in Bridgetown, Barbados. He was adjudged lbw by Nehemiah Perry on the score of 199.

 2. Mohammad Azharuddin: Mohammad Azharuddin was the first Indian player to get out on the score of 199. He was lbw by Ratnayeke of Sri Lanka on 17 Dec 1986 at Kanpur. Azhar completed 99 tests scoring 6215 runs for the Indian cricket team.

 1. Mudassar Nazar: Mudassar Nazar was the first man in the history of Test Cricket to get dismissed on an individual score of 199 against India at Faisalabad on 24 October 1984 bowl by Shival Yadav and caught by Kirmaini. He has played 76 tests for Pakistan scored 4114 runs for his country.
