Hashim Amla: Silent Warrior; fastest to reach Multiples of 2000-7000 ODI runs. What’s Next?

Cool and Composed South African middle order batsman Hashim Amla is backbone of his team. He engraved himself in South African cricket history. He is a wristy player not known for big shots but familiar of his cool and calm cricket and classy shots on the cricket field.

Make his Test debut back in 2004 soon molded himself into one day player by changing gears and become the fastest batsman to 2,000 (40 innings), 3,000 (57 innings), 4,000 (81 innings)  5,000 (101 innings) , 6000 (123 innings) and 7000 (150 innings) runs in ODI cricket.

Among current players who have yet not played 200 ODIs, South Africa’s Hashim Amla comes close to breaking Kohli’s record. Earlier this year he has broken the Kohli’s record of quickest to 7,000 ODI runs.

Amla also has a chance to make more ODI centuries than Kohli. His current tally stands at 26. Apart from Kohli and Amla, no other player looks to break reach the numbers quickly. But the main difference between the two is age as Kohli is still 28 and can play 7-10 years while Amla is 34 and he can play 3-4 years.  Here is comparison between the two:
