India collapse but Jadeja and Ashwin salvage team for the day

3rd Test: India v England at Mohali, 26-30 November, 2016

Day 2: It just under 4 over India to wrap up the England innings. Mohammed Shami took 3/63, Jayant Yadav, Umesh Yadav and Ravinder Jadeja ending up picking Wickets each.  Murli vijay and Parthiv Patel who’s making comeback after 8 years to international cricket started the innings for India.

Murli Vijay was caught behind the wickets on the score of 12 but the left-hander scored 42 before he was trapped in front by Rashid. Patel’s wicket brought Virat Kohli to the crease, and he joined Cheteshwar Pujara in the middle.

The pair put up a solid show with the bat and added 75 runs, and put the Indian innings on track. India was sailing at 148/2 but Pujara’s wicket prompted a fall down which pressed India on the rug. India lost 3 rapid wickets in 5 over’s, and added just 9 runs to the team’s tally.

Ajinkya Rahane and Karun Nair followed Pujara back to the shed. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja led India’s fight back adding 678 run partnership for the 7th wicket duo pushed the team to 271 for 6 at stumps on Day 2 in Mohali on Sunday. Ashwin 57* and Jadeja 31* were still on the crease on day 2. Both need to carry on tomorrow morning where they left to provide valuable lead.
