IPL 2018: Playoffs stage set, CSK vs SRH first qualifier will be played tomorrow

Sunday’s day was a decisive one, as per playoffs of IPL-11 was concerned. The journey of Mumbai Indians and Kings XI ended in this tournament. Along with this, Rajasthan Royals (RR) become the fourth team on the table. Sunrise Hyderabad on the first number, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the second, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on the third and RR on the fourth support in the playoffs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad topped table with 9 wins in 14 matches after team league matches with point +0.284 NRR and CSK is just lagging behind them on the basis of low run rate with 0.253 NRR.

In the first match on Sunday, Delhi Daredevils defeated Mumbai Indians by 11 runs and broke their dream of reaching the playoffs. Delhi batted first with 174 runs for 4 wickets in reply to Mumbai’s team all out on 163 runs.

In the second match, Kings XI Punjab team came up against Chennai Super Kings. There was a challenge before Punjab that they beat Chennai with more than 53 runs so that they could leave Rajasthan behind the net run rates. Punjab’s team went all out on 153 in 19.4 overs, while Chennai won the match by 5 wickets.

Playoffs will begin on Tuesday. The Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were top of the table will face Chennai Super Kings on the second spot team in the table for the first qualifier.  This match will be held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The team winning this match will be book their berth direct for the finals.

The eliminator will be played on Wednesday. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, who are third and fourth, will face each other at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. The team losing this match will be out of the IPL 2018

After this, on Friday 25th May the qualifier 2 will be. This match will be a match between the team that lost in the qualifier 1 and the winning team in the eliminator. This match will also be played in Kolkata.  On Sunday, the winners of the qualifiers 1 and qualifier 2 match will clash in the finals and the match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday 27th May.  *Playoffs, eliminators and finals will start at 7.00 in the evening.
