Two Time World T20I Champions Will Take on ICC World XI for only T20I

The World T20 Champions will take on ICC World XI tomorrow for only T20I match to raise funds for a good cause. The funds raised from this encounter will be used to redevelop stadia in the Caribbean which were damaged due to the hurricanes last year. The World XI squad is embraced with some of the finest cricketers and the clash is expected to be a nail biting finish.

West Indies team have some of the aggressive cricketers in their batting line-up and the team will be led by Carlos Brathwaite.

The ICC World XI has gone through a lot of changes in the past few days as a some of the players pulled out due to some personal reason or so. The major change is the skipper Morgan is out due to injury in his right ring finger while playing a match in the Royal London One-Day Cup against Somerset on Sunday.

The left-hand batsman is expected to be fit for England’s one-off ODI against Scotland on June 10. That will be followed by a five-match ODI series against Australia.

Now former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi will lead the ICC World XI against West Indies in the one-off T20I at Lord’s on May 31.

The hard-hitting all-rounder had last played for Pakistan in WT20 in 2016.

Apart from Afridi, Shoaib Malik will also be a part of the ICC World XI.

Earlier, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and India’s Hardik Pandya also withdrew from the encounter.

Two other England players, Sam Curran and Tymal have also been added to the squad.
