ZIMvPAK: Fakhar Zaman completed 1000 ODI runs in just 18 innings, created world record

After scoring double ton in the fourth ODI against Zimbabwe, Fakhar Zaman set another record on Sunday. In the 5th ODI of the ODI Series, he completed 1000 runs of ODI runs but when he took 21st run of the innings, he got to the world record of making the fastest 1000 ODI runs.

He left behind West Indian Legend Sir Vivian Richards. Fakhar Zaman just took 18 innings to achieve this feat 18th. On the other hand, Vivian Richards took 21 innings to reach this figure. However, apart from Richards, 4 other batsmen have also scored 1000 runs in 21 innings. Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Quinton de Kock and Babar Azam have also completed 1000 runs in 21 innings.

3 centuries and 5 half-centuries in 18 matches

The 28-year-old has now 1065 runs, he scored 85 runs in 83 balls in the 5th ODI. During this 10 fours and one six was hit. So far, he has scored 3 centuries and 5 half-centuries in 18 matches. His average is 76.07. Fakhar also made a double century against Zimbabwe in previous match. He is the first Pakistani batsman to score a double century in ODIs.
