Due to finger injury, Team India’s fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah is ruled out from England’s T-20 and ODI series. According to team management sources, Bumrah was injured during the T20 series against Ireland. Bumrah will soon return home. Meanwhile, it is expected that he will be fit before the Test series starting on August 1.
Off-spinner Washington has also twisted his ankle while playing football before the second T20I against Ireland and he is also ruled out of T20I series.
The absence of Bumrah’s from T20Is and ODIs is a big blow to Team India as he accurate and the best death bowler of current time. The team management believes that Bumrah performed good in the Test series against South Africa and would be fit for the Test series against England. Management is confident the replacement of Bumrah will perform well in his absence.
India are likely to replace either Mumbai paceman Shardul Thakur or Rajasthan pacer Deepak Chahar as possible replacement for Bumrah. Left-arm spinner Axar Patel is in reckoning to replace Washington. All three bowlers are currently touring with the India ‘A’ team in England. Chahar has been in good form for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and has continued to do well for India ‘A’ in England.
The series between India and England will start from July 3, where the first T20 will be played between the two teams at Old Trafford. Apart from this, the second match of the T20 series will be played on July 6 and July 8, while the third T20 competition will be played. After the T20 series, the two countries will also play one-day series of 3 matches from July 12.
