ICC ODIs Rankings: Kohli No. 1 Batsman; While Rashid, Bumrah Shared No.1 Spot

After epic performance in ODI series in South Africa skipper Virat Kohli maintain his number 1 spot in the One Day Internationals. Recently Kohli become the first batsman to strike 500 or more runs in ODI series.

Kohli aggregated 558 runs in 6 innings at an average of 186 runs with 3 hundreds and 1 fifty; with help this he is also able to violate 900 points tally in the ODIs ratings. Kohli is the second batsman after South Africa’s AB de Villiers to attain over 900 points in tandem in both forms of the game. He is now among the five batsmen to do so; Sir Viv Richards leads the list with 935 points in ODIs.

AB de Villiers and David Warner are at No. 2 and No.3 Position with 844 and 823 rating respectively Shikhar Dhawan, who was the second-highest scorer in the ODIs in South Africa with 323 runs in six innings, jumped four positions up to tenth.

India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan have jointly climbed to the top spot in the ICC ODIs bowler’s rankings. Rashid, aged 19 years 153 days, also became the youngest ever No.1 in men’s rankings history.  Rashid took 16 wickets in five matches against Zimbabwe, at an exceptional average of 7.93. Rashid also contributed with the bat with 51 runs in two innings in the series, including a brisk 43 in the final match in Sharjah on Monday which has helped him split into the top-five in the list of all-rounders.

Other big changes included the wrist spinning duo of Yuzvendra Chahal, who rose eight places to 21st, and Kuldeep Yadav, who climbed 15 places to 47th.
