Finally an episode filled with lots of drama and twists and turns came to an end as Ravi Shastri is new head coach; and bolt from the blue Zaheer Khan being bowling coach and Rahul Dravid Foreign batting consultant.
The news came exactly day after Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) press conference in which Saurav Ganguly said we all three i.e. myself, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman unanimously decided that the committee is not in hurry to take decision on coach and we will have talk with skipper Virat Kohli when he will came back from the America. He also added that it’s the Players and captain who perform on the field so they seek there advise before the final decision taken.
Suddenly yesterday news came in media that Ravi Shastri is appointed as a head coach because BCCI given CAC intimation to appoint the coach by the evening. But later BCCI denied the news that Ravi Shastri being appointed as India coach and said that the Cricket Advisory Committee is still judging on verdict on coach.
The Final confirmation came late on Tuesday night by an email by BCCI that Ravi Shastri will be team India head coach. Former India Skipper and All rounder Ravi Shastri has history of experience as a team director of the Indian men’s cricket team (August 2014 to April 2016) and now he has been appointed as coach for a two-year period till the end of the ICC World Cup 2019. Along him two vast experience player cum coach given additional responsibilities. Zaheer Khan has been great bowler and has an experience as mentor of IPL team Delhi Daredevils given reponsiblity of team India bowling coach and on the Other hand Mr. dependable Rahul Dravid is classy player and has experience as a Coach of India A, U-19 teams. Rahul Dravid is appointed as a batting consultant for overseas tours which will be good for youngsters.
