Bengaluru: India defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 262 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Friday. India all-out Afghanistan twice in a single day and ended the guest’s debut test in 2 days.
This is India’s biggest victory in terms of runs and innings. Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan was adjudged Man of the Match. Team India won a test for the first time in two days and became the first Asian team to do so. The match that started on Thursday, India managed to score 474 runs in 104.5 overs in the first innings. In reply, Afghanistan’s first innings was reduced to 109 Afghanistan and India enforced follow on Afghanistan but the story was same and visitors were unable to do anything special in the second innings too, and the whole team returned to pavilion at 103 runs. This was India’s biggest win in terms of runs and innings.

Afghanistan became the team to play least overs in debut Test
Afghanistan first innings was reduced to 27.5 overs; and result of this Afghanistan became team to play least overs in debut Test. Earlier this record was held by Bangladesh. In their debut test against India, Bangladesh’s managed just 46.3 overs in their second innings.

Afghanistan has become the team that has scored the lowest score on the field. Not only this, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the most number of wickets fell on a single day. Earlier on this ground, the maximum was 16 wickets in one day.
