Babar innings gave hopes to Pakistani team; New Zealand lead by 55 runs

Day 3: Pakistan started the innings on overnight score of 76/5; Babar Azam and Ahmed started the innings steadily. Both were playing sensibly and went on to add 74 runs for the sixth wicket as Sarfraz Ahmed was caught by Jeet Raval breakthrough provided by Wagner in 42nd over of the innings. Sohail Khan also added crucial 67 run partnership with Babar Azam for the 7th wicket before getting out on 37 runs caught behind the wickets; this time burst through was provided by Tim Southee.

Pakistan showed good game today first Sarfraz Ahmed and later Sohail Khan kept the Kiwis at cove. Babar Azam held one end with a fine unbeaten 90 and the Kiwis would have hoped for a lead better than the final 55 runs only. Tim Southee ended up 6 wickets, Wagner took 3 wickets. In replay New Zealand played just one ball in the second innings today and rain hits the match and play was called for today. Just 38.1 over’s bowled today.
