Today, Ravi Shastri Brief the conference and said that BCCI four member committee taken the decision and appointed Bhart Arun as new full time bowling coach of India. Shastri also said that the final decision on Zaheer Khan and Rahul Dravid will be confirmed by the BCCI officials.
All three Bharat Arun, Sanjay Bangar and R Sridhar will be retained for two years i.e. till the 2019 World Cup.
Rumors were already out that Ravi Shastri wanted Bhart Arun as bowling coach. Moreover Ravi Shastri said that he want someone as full time coach and he wanted his choice of staff not imposed by others because he is the one who have to give the result along with the captain.
Bharat Arun does not have much of experience as player or as a coach. Arun started as career as bowler and lower order batsmen but failed to maintain his position in the team. He has played just 2 test matches and picked 4 wickets and he was earlier with Ravi Shastri as a staff when he was team India’s director.
Bharat Arun Stats
While the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) had recommended Zaheer Khan’s name for the bowling coach on 11 July 2017, BCCI announced Bharat Arun as the bowling coach for India on 18 July 2017.
All disarray started with the appointement of Ravi Shastri as head coach where CAC has to appoint the coach immediately as BCCI asked them to do so immediately and Cricket Advisory Committee did so by appointing other two coaches Zaheer Khan as bowling coach and Rahul Dravid as foreign batting consultant. Ravi Shastri already made his intentions clear that he was not asked before the appointment of duo.
Hope this chaos is over and no other surprise news will come again. As team India need to focus on the cricket by putting behind all the issues behind.
