India recouped Border-Gavasker Trophy by beating Australia 2-1 in 4 Test Match Series.

Indian team was the favorites before the start of series and there were presumptions that the India will beat Australians comfortably. But Ironically Indians were in huge trouble as they tasted nastiest rout of all time as the lost the first test Match by 333 runs. Indian Team just managed to make 105 & 107 in both the innings. But Team India made a strong come back in the 2nd Test Match of the series where they beat Australia by 75 runs and managed to level the series 1-1 after being trailing by 87 runs in 1st Innings. This test match will be remembered for Brain Fade episode of Steven Smith.

During 2nd Innings of second Test Match Steven Smith got LBW and he looked at the dressing room for DRS help but umpire immediately showed Smith the way to dressing room. Lot of people changed the DRS term Decision Review System to” Dressing Room Review System”. Later in the press conference Steven Smith said I was hit on the pad and looked toward Pitty and he said look up there, so I looked towards Dressing room and it was sort of Brain Fade, Moreover Peter Handscomb said that I referred Smith to look at the dressing room because I was unaware of the rule… Strange!!!.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli said that he saw this in other two occasions and pointed out an umpire that’s why umpire reacted immediately at that time. He said sledging is different thing… but I don’t want to mention the word, but it falls in that bracket. I would not do something like that on the Cricket Field. The matter got lots of fire but was settled at last on mutual understanding of skippers and cricket boards.

Australia managed to draw the 3rd Test Match by sensiable batting down the order by Marsh and Handscomb as they both put on 124 runs partnership for 5th wicket when Australia was in big trouble to lose the Match.

India and Australia move to the 4th Test for the decider game. But the bad news Indian Skipper Virat Kohli got injured which means India had to move in the decider test before him. Kuldeep Yadav got the chance to make the debut. Australia started the innings very well as they reach the score of 131/1 by lunch and that too at good rate. But soon after lunch Kuldeep Yadav was introduced to and he gave much needed breakthrough and after that Australia not recovered and loses wickets at regular intervals and bundled out on 300/10. India got lead of 32 runs and crumbled the Australians on 137/10 in 2nd innings which means India got target of 106 runs to win and India achieved the target with 8 wickets in hands. Thanks to the valuable partnership of Jadeja and Saha which gave extra advantage to team.

Plus point of the series is that not only spinners but fast bowlers also performed brilliantly and contributed whenever required.

This also makes certain that India will retain No.1 position in Test Match consecutively for 2nd Year and will be rewarded Million dollar prize.
